The Farmers

Hope with FlowersSince 1982, Roy and Hope Brubaker have cared for the farm. As head farmer, Roy focuses on growing crops for the Tuscarora Organic Growers Cooperative, when he isn't involved in CSA production. Hope’s part-time involvement includes greenhouse work and flower production.

All of the Brubaker children have been involved in the work of the farm over the years. Angela helped establish the farm’s CSA in 1998. Phoebe and Deb expanded the farm crew during college breaks. Roy Dale and his wife Julie Hurst raise lamb, beef and pork for the CSA at Blue Rooster Farm nearby.

Each year several apprentices join the farm. Their contributions, along with the work of local employees, and our managers, are essential to the success of each farm season. To join the apprenticeship program, send an inquiry to villageacres@gmail.com.  You may also click on this link for more info:  Apprenticeship Information.Roy & Hope
